Back to the world ...

Just over two weeks have passed since Olivia's birth - time we have spent at home together as I have been on paternity leave. On Monday, however, it's time to head back into working life. It will be a little strange, I think. I've been forcing myself to take the odd peek at my Blackberry in recent days, scanning the email chatter that goes on, checking the range of issues to which I will need to attend upon my return.

This, I hope, will make re-entry into that particular orbit less of a bumpy ride - and will also give me a bit of head start in stimulating the required levels of interest in all of the above issues. It's surely a cliche, but I do find myself with an altered perspective of what is important. Olivia's eyes developing focus and the first signs of her following shapes and colours and perhaps even looking at us properly - such matters are all rather weightier than the roll-out of the new European site localisation process.
